French Immersion provides students with an opportunity to learn in the French language. In high school, students need one core French language credit to earn their diploma.īeginning in grade 1, parents may apply to have their child attend a French Immersion program. Students in Core French develop a basic usable command of French.
Core French (begins in grade 4 for all Peel students), French Immersion (available from grade 1 by application) and Extended French (available from grade 7 by application).Īll students in grades 4 to 8 study French as a Second Language for 200 minutes per week.
